| Do most insurance plans have coverage for ambulance transportation costs? What happens if you are not covered? | ||

| You get a big bill if you are not covered is what happens. I think its about $500.00 but that might just be for my area. I know for Blue Choice it will cover (for most plans) about 80% of the fee, so that would be a good chunk but if your not covered I assume they would just bill you as the emergency room would do the same. | ||

| I have a health plan but I don't know if ambulance service is covered, there are some things that you just don't think of until you need it, but I will take the cue and check it. | ||

| So if you are about to die of a heart attack in your home, unable to drive, you would be stuck not being able to get to the hospital unless you were willing to pay a huge bill? That's horrible... | ||

| There are a lot of horrible things about what insurance covers and what it doesn't. Next year will be the first year that our insurance company offers preventative care. Maybe companies are finally beginning to figure out that if their clients die from a preventable disease they won't be able to pay their premiums. | ||

| Not only that Lacy but preventive care can actually save them money down the line. Preventing rather than treating something, or catching it at its earliest stages-way cheaper than a long drawn out illness. | ||
