| Bone transplants have been used in the treatment of HIV sufferers who have certain types of cancer, and they may have been helped with the cancer but not the AIDS. I am highly spectacle of this claim. | ||

| I saw this reported on the BBC and was very surprised. I didn't even know that there were people who were naturally resistant to HIV-I wonder if somehow their bone marrow could be cultured and grown outside of the body, thus making a greater amount. | ||

| That is a good note to think about but I am not sure we are right there just yet medical wise. I know bone marrows are always hard to deal with and very tricky to pin point what will work and what will not. | ||

| The problem here would be in typing. You can only receive a transplant from someone who is a match for you, and that tends to be a very slim chance. Now add to that the fact that only 1% of the population are immune to it-then I would say that it would only indirectly lead to hope of a cure. |

| Those numbers are kind of scary but if even a small % of people can be helped that is still more hope than everyone who has HIV has right now. Maybe this will lead into another direction to help everyone. | ||
