Post Surgery - Protein Powder |
|
|
I've been trying to add some weight after a surgery since I've lost more than 20 pounds during the recovery period. People suggested me to try protein powder as a nutrition supplement. Are there any dangers to it? |

Since you need to regain the weight and not just the muscle, it's OK to use protein but don't use high percent mix. Use protein powder with around 40% of protein and 40-50% of carbohydrates. It's more important to have lots of calories than just lots of protein. |

I forgot to tell you that protein supplement can't replace your regular food intake. Food intake needs to stay the same or even higher if you want to add weight. Find some food calorie chart on the Internet and see how many calories food you're eating has. Strive to the rich calorie food. |

After some illness I have lost more than 20 pounds, so I had to take supplements to help me regain the weight. I have used protein from whey and egg sources. You can find them in many flavors. They are very delicious so you don't need to worry about that, because you'll enjoy them! ;) |
