Simply Sleep vs Allergy Meds

After reading the ingredients in Tylenol Pm and Simply Sleep (the same product without the pain reliever) I realized its nothing more than allergy meds (the type that make you sleepy). Which is odd as even allergy meds are cheaper than Simply Sleep, and dirt cheap if you buy generic brand. Does anyone else find it insane that they take an obviously cheap med, slap a name brand on it and make it seem special and charge 4 times more for it?

Yes it is crazy, and worse that most people don't realise what is happening. I think it's a horrible tactic too that they are taking the unwanted side effect of one drug and making it the selling point of another...

It is crazy but it happens with all kinds of name brand items.
If you can't sleep it's probably better to take a sleep medicine rather than an allergy or pain medicine. (unless of course you're not sleeping because of allergies or pain)

It's also nutty that people pay more for the brand name when the generic can be really cheap if you find the right store.

I haven't used a brand name in a long time, I especially love the "buy two get three free" from some sellers. And that's just for allergy medication.

Brand name prescriptions really are the worst at the over charging game. And it does seem like a game. If you don't read the fine print you have to pay more.

I hate it that people are being cheated when it comes to something they really need, like medications.

I don't know how many people have told me to buy brand name meds because they were more effective (not true). Its not that hard to figure out, just turn the box around and compare the active ingredients. The only thing brand names are more effective at is marketing.

Thank God for generics.
