  Subject

Soft Teeth 

I have a friend with extremely soft teeth and before he was 30 had to have all of his removed and have dentures put in. What drives me batty is that for years dentist would tell him he is too young to have them taken out, but this is someone that goes through having an abscess 1/2 times a month. Whats wrong with these people, I understand wanting life time costumers, but really at the expense of having them in constant pain? :(

Ultimately you know it is down to the patient. If that person as the patient makes a choice and that choice is removal then they have to be strong enough to push for the treatment that they want. We are all the only ones who can advocate for our own health.

I agree, my dad got dentures at 35 after having numerous root canals. Granted the US navy made the decision for him, but he would have had them soon anyway as the root canals weren't helping too much.

If he had wanted them out its just a matter of finding a second or third opinion to get someone to do what he wanted.

Right-go elsewhere, ask around. This is you that is suffering the pain (speaking to your friend) each time you suffer one of the abscesses, it's not the dentist who has to go through the pain each time.

So they shouldn't be able to dictate that you must continue to experience the pain either.

Both of my parents had theirs yanked before they were old enough to drink. Its really messed up I still see tons of adults now with their wisdom teeth giving bad issues too.

I think most dont want to pull a young persons teeth for two reasons, mostly they will still come back to them as repeat clients. The second being since they are fairly young (and friend was told this from about age 20 up) their still "growing". I believe the first before the second any day.
