Music Therapy

My sister has just started working in a new school, and is giving music and light therapy to brain injured children. They apparently have wonderful results from these forms of stimulation, yet they seem so simple!

That's very interesting and sounds like fun if that is the right word. What kind of music do they use? Anything specific or do they use a wide variety?

I have always thought that music could stimulate the mind, and we all know it can for the soul. I wish more places would get into alternative areas like this to help out.

Music plays important role in my life. I think I never would be this happy if it there wasn't music. I agree that music therapy is great!

Of course music therapy works. When even plants react to music what did you think about people. I just wonder why this is not incorporated anywhere around the World.

Some people think more in the realm of sound, if you know what I mean. Take Mozart, for instance. He claimed that he could see the notes around him.

Music therapy is an excellent way to reach inside a mind that might otherwise be closed, as in the treatment of autistic children. There have been some very good results showing music therapy as being helpful in getting responses when nothing else does.

I am very encouraged at reading this thread. I was unaware that they are making strides in helping these poor kids. I have read that there is a definite increase in the number of diagnosed autism in the past few years.

The music tends to be gentle. Nothing with heavy beats and of course nothing offensive. Its a lot of classical music and kind of-well almost hippy stuff. Its plinky plunky, really delightful stuff.

Haha I like your description of that music very much! I figured that music needs to be soothing and peaceful. There are times that some music makes me wonder if it is man or nature made because it blends so well with some nature scenes.

Yes I have heard about Solitudes.com. They were online since the old 1995, almost from the creation of the Internet. Their music and nature recording are so good that I honestly don't have the words to describe them fairly.

As a matter of fact yes I have. It's a Canadian production house, right? There are some wonderful pieces of music that I have heard!

I just have listened to one of their songs. Visit this page and listen to the sample from the album, you'll be surprised how good it is!
