I am 49 and have always been in good health until I had an unexpected stroke 2-3 years ago. I ostensibly have recovered, but I get exhausted easily, and seem to get cramps too often. My feet are also swollen. Is this just aging? My doctor seems unconcerned. |

You are still a young guy. If you have any worries about your health go ask your doc. Swollen feet might be a symptom of lack of circulation or your heart not working at its best or something else.
Don't just blame old age when you don't feel well. You have got every right to question your doctor until you get an answer that helps you.
I wish I were 49 again. |

skatss is right. There are so many reasons your feet could be swelling, anything from circulation problems to medication side effects. If your doctor isn't answering questions to your satisfaction, maybe you should look for another. My wife has circulation and breathing issues. After process of elimination, we found one of her breathing medications makes her legs and feet swell. |

My mom is heavyset and went to the Dr. for many years and would complain that she always felt exhausted. Her Dr. ran a few tests, but never gave it too much worry. Finally, when we changed Dr's. she was tested for sleeping disorders. During this test, her new Dr. Found she had one of the worst cases of Sleep Apnea that he has ever seen. The moral of this story, continue to talk to your Dr. and maybe find another one, who will listen. |

Old age gets a bad rap for a lot of things. It's just that 49 hardly qualifies you to join the seniors' line pal. So go out and smell the roses and then run these issues by a couple other docs and see if they all concur. |

You are young to have a stroke! I think talking to a doctor soon could help alleviate some of your worries. I wish I were 49 again because at that age most people can still do most of what they want to, physically. I didn't start falling apart till at least 55. |
