Positive Aspects of Sulfasalazine 500mg:

less pain, swelling

Negative Aspects of Sulfasalazine 500mg:

none to me personally

Reason for taking Sulfasalazine 500mg:

rheumatoid arthritus

Additional Comments:

this drug is mainly used for treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. It is also effective in several types of arthritis, particularly rheumatoid arthritis. In rheumatoid arthritus, my own body is attacking itself. It was explained to me as it kind of supresses my over active immune system. The only side effect I could find was nausea which can usually be corrected with a lower dose. (Although I experienced no effects at all.)
