It can upset the stomach but also can cause liver problems rarely. It also can cause persistant headaches. |

I have taken Macrobid/Nitrofurantoin for many years as a once a day urinary tract infection preventative since I have a chronic problem. It has worked very well for me cutting down acute infections from once a month to maybe one or two a year. |

My doctor prescribed Macrobid as a treatment for an acute urinary tract infection. It worked quickly and effectively. I did experience a headache the first couple days but these subsided with continued use. |
